We held our AGM at the start of September. Here are some of the decisions made:
- We will enter two teams in the Cleveland Chess League, one in the A division, one in the C division.
2. The annual subscription will be £30.
3. We will run a Club competition over the course of the season. In each round you play two 25 minute games against your opponent (so in each game you both have 25 minutes on the clock).
4. Club meetings are weekly at 7pm on Thursdays at The Buffs Social Club in Stockton; but some players may also like to meet at about 1pm on Mondays in Cafe Nero in Stockton.
The A Team results so far: We have played two league matches (losing to Darlington 1.5-3.5 and then narrowly losing to Great Ayton 2-3). We have also played one Cup match against a very strong Middlesbrough Rooks team, in which we lost 0.5-4.5.
We hope to do better in the next part of the season! And we would be delighted to welcome new members – whatever your standard, just come along on Thursday evenings.
